Sales Executive- 1 POSITION

Reporting to Head of Terminal the job holder will be responsible for ensuring continuous attainment of the company’s revenue targets securing new customers, maintaining and developing existing accounts.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Formulating and implementation marketing strategy and long-term business plans;
  2. Develop work plan and budgets for the department for approval;
  3. Overseeing the execution of marketing work plan and budgets;
  4. Delivery of agreed revenue and objectives on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis,
  5. Conduct and deliver sales pipelines.
  6. Identify potential customers and pursue realization of such opportunities leading to revenue for the company.
  7. Negotiate with customers as per price guidelines applicable to the business units.
  8. Maintain records of customer details / sales visits and keep management informed.
  9. Conduct business reviews to ensure customers are satisfied with products and services
  10. Support Customer Service and work closely with Operations and Documentation on the execution of customer service contracts.
  11. Provide weekly and monthly reports, data, research and market intelligence to the CFS’S Manager, highlighting business performance, competitive landscape and recommendations
  12. Track progress against revenue targets and provide weekly and monthly progress reports
  13. Perform any other relevant duties that may be assigned by the supervisor

Knowledge and Skills Required:

The Job holder must possess the following;

  • Bachelor degree in Commerce, Marketing option or its equivalent
  • MBA (Marketing) will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience
  • A member of MSK and other affiliated professional body.
  •  Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  •  Excellent planning and work management skills.

Security Officer – 1 Position

Reporting to the Head of Terminal the job holder will be responsible for overseeing the safety and security of the personnel, materials, buildings and information of the organization from physical assault, fraud and industrial espionage/sabotage.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Participate in developing  and implementation of  policies, procedures, standards, training and methods for identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, operations or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, tampering, sabotage or loss
  2. Maintaining close liaison with the Company providing the security services
  3. Plan, direct, and ensure implementation of comprehensive security systems for protection of individuals, commercial and industrial establishments
  4. Planning and directing installation of electronic security systems, such as CCTV surveillance, entry controls, burglar alarms, smoke detectors and outdoor perimeter and alarms
  5. Conducting surprise security drills to check the efficiency of all security measures
  6. Plan and  coordinate  safety  of  clients  during  tours/travel  with  the  Security  Unit  of  the establishment.
  7. Managing security guards who ensure the protection of the organization’s facilities
  8. Develop and enforce security procedures and regulations
  9. Act as a liaison to all departments on security measures, procedures, and needs
  10. Supervise direct reports work and other administrative matters;
  11. Perform any other relevant duties that may be assigned by the supervisor

Knowledge and Skills Required:

The Job holder must possess the following;

  • Bachelor’s degree in security studies, political science, international relations or other relevant field

Reporting to Accountant, the job holder will ensure proper accounting of all collection in assigned units.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Keying of original source documents i.e Manifest, Release Orders, Kwatos & ICMS to Terminal Operating System.
  2. Receiving of all types of cargo in the system
  3. Issuance of verification memos
  4. Issuing of invoices and receipts
  5. Issuing of gate passes and final release orders
  6. Providing over-the-counter enquiries on cargo positions and other related queries.
  7. Managing Cargo stock control and reconciliations.
  8. Ensure proper documentation in loading and offloading section.
  9. Maintenance of accurate cargo records
  10. Safe custody of accountable documents.
  11. Ensuring reconciliation of physical cargo matches with system records.
  12. Verification of all accountable documents before releasing cargo.
  13. Perform any other relevant duties that may be assigned by the supervisor

Knowledge and Skills Required:

The Job holder must possess the following;

  • Diploma in Business or related field.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in a busy container freight station
  • Proficient in use Terminal Operating System, Excel, Ms Word, Kwatos & ICMS.
  • Attention to detail and a team player.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to deliver targets, and a good planner who pays attention to detail
  • Must have knowledge  in use of MS office packages
  • Should have effective people management and conflict resolution skills

Officer – Yard Operations -1 Position

Reporting to the Operations Manager the job holder will be responsible for effective and smooth operations of activities at the yard.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Preparing yard operational budgets.
  2. Liaising with Government authorities at CLC with regard to cargo related issues
  3. Attending to yard related queries and providing up to date information of all gate-in and gate-outs.
  4. Assist yard clerks in following up cargo movements within the yard.
  5. Ensure compliance with QHSE requirements by all staff working in the yard.
  6. Take charge of staff administration in the section including shifts, leave scheduling and performance matters.
  7. Update clients on real time basis on their cargo status.
  8. Ensuring timely delivery of client cargo at the yard.
  9. Adhering to all relevant documentation for receipt/delivery of cargo to clients at the yard as required by KRA and other government agencies.
  10. Overseeing the smooth running of yard operations for reconciliations, claims and follow up.
  11. Preparing daily port operational reports and circulate to management.
  12. Ensuring adherence to statutory requirements for cargo release at the port.
  13. Ensuring compliance with QHSE requirements by all staff working in the department
  14. Overseeing transporters activities from Port to the CLC
  15. Attending all KPA meetings on cargo movements on behalf of the company
  16. Providing prompt and accurate documentation of cargo movement as per approved procedures and policies
  17. Following up with KRA, KPA and transporters to ensure that cargo is promptly delivered to yard.
  18. Ensuring good communication and customer relations both internally and externally such as KPA, KRA, and other government stakeholders to ensure success in port
  19. Perform any other relevant duties that may be assigned by the supervisor

Knowledge and Skills Required:

The Job holder must possess the following

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Related field
  • Diploma in Procurement / Logistics and Clearing and forwarding or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in port or container freight stations
  • Should have thorough knowledge of the relevant industry/sector as well as regulatory requirements affecting the relevant sector
  • Must demonstrate ability to handle multiple and conflicting priorities, and work under strict deadlines.
  • Should have strong analytical and be result oriented
